King Edward VIII 1932 Signed Letter Regarding Christ's Hospital
King Edward VIII (1894 – 1972) A 1932 Type Signed Letter Regarding Christs Hospital, London. A one page type letter dated August 10th 1932, written whilst Prince on Wales and on his personal St. Jamess Palace stationery to the outgoing Clerk of Christs Hospital, Thomas Edward Limmer. It is boldly signed at the foot Edward P. I have just heard that you are about to give up the post of Clerk to Christs Hospital which you have so ably filled for many years. The letter has been affixed to a backing card which has also been mounted with a contemporary cut photograph showing the Prince seated with four others – the man on the far right would appear to be Limmer (based on the portrait by Kenneth Green in the Christs Hospital archive which was painted the same year as this letter). And overall in good condition. The item “King Edward VIII 1932 Signed Letter Regarding Christ’s Hospital” is in sale since Monday, September 30, 2019.
